The following information is related to credit board connections and
settings used in the UK. These boards are used as an interface between the game
PCB and electronic coin validators such as the Mars MS/ME series and the Coin
Controls Sentinel. This enables a variety of pricing options for up to 4
different coin values not available on most game PCBs. Identifying the board
and getting the switch options can be difficult as information is rarely passed
on with the game. Information is provided here to help those with credit boards
fitted to their games. It is assumed you have some knowledge of board
inter-wiring and just need the switch setting information.
Notes:
Where boards have 2 coin sets, A=10, 20, 50, 100 and B=5, 10, 25, 100.
Dip switches are shown as 0=Off and 1=On.
Most boards are 12 volt and have 0V switching. So you can use a 5v or 12v
meter.
The pin outs from most coin acceptors are as follows:
Where there are more than 13 pins, use the missing unused pins to locate positions. With Mars mechs with 15 or 17 pins, (5 and 6 coin validators) the top ones are extra coin outputs and the lower extra coin inhibits. On Sentinels, pin 14 inhibits coins 5 & 6 and pin 15 inhibits coins 7 & 8. Coin 1 and 5 will appear at coin output 1 and so on.
